We interviewed a representative of the “Kusakaritai” operation, which undertakes grass cutting services.
Q. What made you decide to introduce Power Rotary Scissors?Kusakaritai’s site has many parking lots that are just crushed stone, and weeds grow between the stones. At such sites, chip saws and string trimmer increase the risk of flying stones and damaging vehicles. An accident would be a credibility hazard for us, and would also cause a great deal of stress for the workers. We were looking for a way to safely mow the grass at such sites without stress, which is what led us to introduce Power Rotary Scissors. When we looked up countermeasures on the Internet, we found that clipper blades were available as a measure against stepping stones, but we did not know which one to choose because there were similar vertical and round blades from various companies. We looked up the features of each type on the manufacturer’s website and checked the evaluations on store websites, and decided to go with IDECH’s Power Rotary Scissors, which had by far the largest number of installations and evaluations.
Q. Please let us know how you feel about using Power Rotary Scissors.
I had high expectations before using it, but what I found again is that there is very little scattering anyway. The stress I felt before using the product is completely gone, and I can now work without worrying about my surroundings, which is a big advantage. There is no violent kickback, so safely mowing from the root is also a big advantage. The ability to mow back and forth increases work efficiency, and I would not want to use anything other than the culmer on a stony site. If I had a wish, it would be helpful if the machine were a little lighter, as it would make work easier. However, this has a lot to do with the balance of the machine. It is not a disadvantage if the machine can be set up in a well-balanced way by adjusting the shoulder belt and handle position, instead of using it in the same condition as a light mower like a chip saw. Surprisingly, a heavy brushcutter may be easier to balance.
